Vancouver Island sits off the west coast of Canada,  near the border with the USA. It is a large island, with a diverse landscape, with forests, mountains, lakes and coastline to rival the mainland. Its so huge, and beautiful, making it one of Canada’s most popular destinations. I loved it so much on my first trip around I came back again. These pages cover my first week-long road trip around the island, exploring much of the island, by car and by hiking boot, with a few unforgettable encounters with wildlife.
